On June 19, 2016, 17-year-old Arrico Dionne Eatmon, affectionately known as "Pooh," was fatally shot in front of a residence on the 5500 block of Avenue D in Birmingham, Alabama. He was subsequently pronounced dead at UAB Medical Center West. Two weeks after the incident, authorities arrested Courtline Griffin, charging him with murder in connection to Eatmon's death.
