On August 13, 2024, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Birmingham Police Department's Real Time Crime Center identified a stolen vehicle in the North Birmingham Homes Housing Community, commonly known as Vice Hills. Officers dispatched to the 3100 block of 43rd Avenue North located the vehicle and, upon arrival, heard gunshots emanating from a nearby apartment.
