On February 16, 2024, 32-year-old Cortez Ray was among four men fatally shot in a quadruple homicide in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. near the 900 block of Center Street North, where the victims were at a neighborhood car wash when an unknown suspect or suspects opened fire.
