On the morning of July 28, 2022, at approximately 7:00 AM, Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 900 block of Meg Drive in the Killough Springs neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama. Upon entering a private residence, they discovered 37-year-old Martez Demon Brown lying unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
