In the summer of 2024, tragedy struck a Birmingham, Alabama community when 61-year-old Charlie Herbert Moore was found shot to death inside an apartment in the Vice Hills housing community. The incident unfolded as police were investigating a stolen vehicle in the area and heard gunshots. They observed suspects fleeing the scene and getting into the stolen car. An officer fired at the armed individuals but did not hit them as they sped away.
