In the spring of 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace of a Birmingham, Alabama apartment complex, leaving a family and community to grapple with a sudden and violent loss. On the evening of May 5th, 44-year-old Damon McCain, a male resident of the city, was tragically killed in what was described as a chaotic hail of bullets. Another individual was also wounded in the incident, though their identity and condition were not widely reported.
