On June 5, 2021, 27-year-old Rikki D'Unri Christopher Bynum of Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Circle K convenience store located at 232 Roebuck Plaza Drive. The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. An East Precinct officer, who was in the vicinity, heard multiple gunshots and promptly responded to the scene.
