On a cold Saturday evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of a 36-year-old Black man, Cedric Dewayne Collins, was tragically cut short. On February 2, 2019, Collins was found in the driver's seat of his car, which had come to a stop after apparently striking a curb and a chain-link fence in the 7700 block of Second Avenue South. He had been shot.
