On a Tuesday afternoon in Birmingham, Alabama, the lives of two brothers were tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The incident unfolded on December 14, 2021, when 23-year-old Black male, Lorenzo Woods, was shot outside a Shell gas station on East Lake Boulevard. First responders found him with gunshot wounds and rushed him to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
