Lorenzo Woods, a 23-year-old man from Birmingham, Alabama, tragically lost his life on December 14, 2021, in what authorities later determined to be a homicide. The incident unfolded in the Ensley neighborhood, a community in the western part of the city, which had been grappling with a series of violent crimes in the preceding months. Woods was found suffering from gunshot wounds, and despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital shortly after the shooting.
