On July 8, 2021, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire at 3753 Todd Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters discovered the body of 47-year-old Bennie Harris inside the residence. Subsequent examination by the Jefferson County Coroner revealed that Harris had sustained a fatal gunshot wound prior to the fire.
