Ronald Ray Cook, a 45-year-old Black man from Birmingham, Alabama, spent the evening of Friday, February 12, 2016, inside a home on Lisa Lane in the Roebuck area when violence broke the quiet without warning. Just before 8 p.m., Birmingham police were dispatched to the 600 block after a report of a shooting. When they arrived, Cook had already been found by a family member, badly wounded by gunfire inside the house.
