In the early hours of August 20, 2024, a dispute between roommates in Birmingham, Alabama, ended in the shooting death of 44-year-old Brandon Barcley Jones. The male victim was discovered by Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies at approximately 1:00 a.m., lying on the front porch of a residence in the 1200 block of Woodslee Street. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
