In the late afternoon hours of a February day in Birmingham, Alabama, 51-year-old Eric Anthony Roney, a Black/African American male, found himself in the tragic path of senseless violence. On February 22, 2018, Roney was in the Bush Hills neighborhood when a shootout erupted between individuals in two vehicles. As the gunfire rang out in the 800 block of 4th Avenue West, a stray bullet struck Roney, who was an innocent bystander to the conflict.
