On the evening of September 18, 2024, the life of 27-year-old Tyrone Dewayne Hendrix, a Black male, was cut short by gunfire in Birmingham, Alabama. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. in Brother Bryan Park, situated in the city's Five Points South neighborhood. Birmingham Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of multiple gunshots. Upon their arrival, they discovered Hendrix unresponsive on the ground, having sustained a gunshot wound.
Despite the prompt response of Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
