William J. Brinson, a 37-year-old white male, served as the Town Marshal of Midville, Georgia. On December 8, 1907, he was tragically shot and killed while performing his duties. The incident occurred when Marshal Brinson confronted a man who was being loud and boisterous on a public street. After ordering the man to quiet down, Marshal Brinson turned to walk away.
