On November 18, 2020, at approximately 10:12 a.m., Birmingham Police officers responded to a call in the 400 block of 36th Avenue North, where they discovered 29-year-old Evander Lewis Williams unresponsive near an apartment building. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel, along with the Jefferson County Coroner, pronounced him deceased at the scene.
