In the spring of 2018, the life of Darien Deon 'Dee' Haslip, a 24-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short in his Birmingham, Alabama, home. On the evening of April 22nd, a friend made a grim discovery, finding Haslip deceased inside his residence. Responding to the call at approximately 6:33 p.m., officers from the North Precinct arrived at the scene to find that Haslip had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
