On September 5, 2015, 25-year-old Xavier Montrez Beasley, a Birmingham resident and Home Depot employee, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Home Depot store on U.S. Highway 280 in Hoover, Alabama. The incident occurred around 12:31 a.m. as Beasley was leaving work after the store had been closed for several hours.
