On July 5, 2008, 20-year-old African American male Jason Dior Showers was fatally shot during a violent altercation outside Banana Joe’s nightclub in the Five Points South area of Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 4:00 AM and resulted in the deaths of Jason Dior Showers and another 20-year-old African American male, Willie D. Daniels. Two other individuals, Deandre Moore and Lashawn Tate, sustained injuries during the same event.
