On July 1, 2020, 41-year-old Rashion McGinnis Cook was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Maple Avenue Southwest. According to the Birmingham Police Department, an unknown individual drove up to the location and fired multiple shots, striking Cook. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel.
