On July 27, 2020, 31-year-old Dexter Dwayne Speight was fatally shot at the Twin Gates Apartments, located at 715 Spring Landing in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding to reports of a shooting around 9:00 p.m., officers from the East Precinct discovered Speight lying on his back, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
