The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after 30-year-old victim identified as Michael Dilworth was found lying in an alley behind an Exxon gas station on 6th Ave. South.
“We heard pow pow pow, pow pow pow, and a pow and that was it,” said Gaye Porter, a resident.
Many heard those sounds Thursday night around 10:00 p.m. after shots rang out. Porter said it’s not all that uncommon.
