Abdo Kasim Musa, a 28-year-old male, was shot to death in Birmingham, Alabama, on the night of July 16, 2007. The picture that emerges from the available online reporting is of an ordinary work night turning suddenly final: Musa was working as a clerk at Matt’s Market on 17th Avenue North, and as the store was being closed around 11:00 p.m., gunfire cut through the end of the evening and left him dead outside the business.
