On August 16, 2017, in Birmingham, Alabama, 20-year-old DeJohn Lewis Williams and 21-year-old Donte Lanier Hall were found shot to death inside a residence in the Powderly community. Neighbors reported hearing gunfire around 1:30 a.m. and discovered the victims in the living room of the home located in the 2200 block of Northland Avenue. Both men had sustained single gunshot wounds.
