On January 25, 2024, 25-year-old Antwain Lamar Lewis Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama, succumbed to complications from a gunshot wound sustained nearly two years earlier. The initial incident occurred on April 29, 2022, during an altercation on the 4200 block of 2nd Avenue South in the Forest Park-South Avondale neighborhood. During this confrontation, Lewis was critically injured, and another individual, Roderick Williams, was fatally shot.
