On the night of November 23, 2021, 32-year-old Michael Martez Johnson was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 10:50 p.m., officers from the South Precinct responded to reports of a person shot inside a vehicle in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue Southwest. Upon arrival, they discovered Johnson unresponsive in the driver's seat, having sustained a gunshot wound. A female passenger was also found with life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
