In the late hours of an April night in 2016, a private party at a Birmingham, Alabama club turned into a scene of chaos and violence that ended the life of 27-year-old Antonio Cortez Joiner. The African-American man was attending a gathering at the East Birmingham Lounge on Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard when a dispute broke out inside the venue in the early morning hours of April 25th.
