On a summer evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 35-year-old Demarco Cortez Thomas, who was also known by the name Geremy Demarco Sistrunk, was cut tragically short. On June 7, 2024, Thomas was shot while driving his SUV. The gunshot wound he sustained caused him to lose control of his vehicle, which then crashed into a nearby home.
