On September 2, 2016, 64-year-old Jerald Douglas Wade was found shot to death under an interstate in Birmingham, Alabama. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified Wade, a retired Texas cattle rancher, as the victim. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service personnel attempted to revive him at the scene but were unsuccessful.
