In the summer of 2024, a grim discovery was made in Birmingham, Alabama, marking a violent end to the life of 29-year-old Byron DaJuan Lumpkin. On June 8th, the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service was dispatched to a house fire in the 3300 block of Barbee Street. It was amidst the charred remains of the dwelling that authorities would uncover a deeper tragedy, finding Lumpkin deceased inside a car that had been left at the vacant house.
