On April 10, 2019, 23-year-old Michael Toney Jr. was fatally shot in a drive-by incident in Birmingham, Alabama. The shooting occurred around 6:15 p.m. as Toney exited a residence on Woodland Avenue SW. A dark-colored vehicle drove past, and occupants opened fire at the home and several vehicles, striking Toney. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
