On February 27, 2019, Ronald Grant Jr., a 39-year-old resident of Birmingham, Alabama, was killed in a shooting at a residence on 43rd Avenue North. Birmingham Police officers responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance at around 9:15 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Grant unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was transported by Birmingham Fire and Rescue to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
