On January 31, 2017, 17-year-old African American male Juzahris Quintez Webb was fatally shot while walking home from Wenonah High School in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 3200 block of Cedar Avenue Southwest. As Juzahris and a friend were walking, a vehicle approached, and someone inside opened fire, striking Juzahris in the stomach. He and his friend sought help at a nearby business, but Juzahris succumbed to his injuries after being transported to UAB Hospital.
