In the fading afternoon light of January 31, 2017, Juzahris Quintez Webb, a 17-year-old male student at Wenonah High School, was walking home with a friend. Their journey was abruptly and violently interrupted in the 3200 block of Cedar Avenue Southwest in Birmingham, Alabama, when a car approached them and an occupant opened fire. Webb was struck in the stomach by the gunfire.
