On a Sunday evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Twenty-three-year-old Darius Moore, a Black male, was seated in his Ford Explorer on March 9, 2014, parked in the yard of his grandfather's home on Blocton Avenue. It was there that an assailant approached and opened fire, fatally wounding Moore. The gunman also fired a shot towards the house before making an escape on foot.
