On March 9, 2014, 23-year-old Darius Moore was fatally shot while seated in his Ford Explorer, parked in his grandfather's yard on the 6100 block of Blocton Avenue near Bessemer Super Highway in Birmingham, Alabama. The assailant fired another shot toward the house before fleeing on foot. In the days following the incident, authorities arrested Tyree Law, who was subsequently charged with capital murder in connection with Moore's death.
