Earnest Lee Hamilton, a 22-year-old Black man from Birmingham, died on May 23, 2009, after he was shot while sitting on a porch in the Marks Village housing community. The online accounts place the shooting at 7530 65th Courtway South, a residential spot in Gate City where an ordinary evening turned fatal. His obituary records that he passed away that day in Birmingham, and within a week his family was preparing to bury him at G. W. Carver Memorial after funeral services at East Birmingham C.O.G ...
