On a Tuesday evening in late spring, the life of Stanley Ray Hopson Jr., a 36-year-old man, was brought to a violent and sudden end. On May 25, 2021, at approximately 9:40 p.m., events unfolded at his residence in the 1000 block of Villa Rica Court in Birmingham, Alabama, that would leave him fatally wounded. Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene following reports of a person shot.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Hopson unresponsive in the doorway of his apartment, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

These individuals were then seen getting into a black Dodge Charger with dark-tinted windows, which was driven by a third, unidentified person, before speeding away from the apartment complex.

As of the latest available reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Stanley Ray Hopson Jr., and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects.
