Corey Lavel Tremble, 38, a Black/African American man from Birmingham, was found shot in the predawn dark of July 17, 2025, in the 700 block of 17th Street in Ensley. Responding officers followed reports of a person down in an alley and discovered him suffering from gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:37 a.m., and the death was classified a homicide.
