Corey Duskin, a 29-year-old Black man from Birmingham, was shot on the evening of December 12, 2020, in the Roosevelt neighborhood, in what unfolded as a sudden and deadly burst of violence at 5909 Ellington Street. Birmingham police were dispatched around 6:20 p.m. and found him wounded inside a vehicle, seated in the driver’s seat. He was taken to the hospital, but he did not survive.
