In the early morning hours of a cold December day in Washington, D.C., the life of 20-year-old Michael R. Dempsey was tragically cut short. On Friday, December 22, 2007, at approximately 12:35 a.m., Dempsey was inside his vehicle in the 800 block of Decatur Street, NE, when he was fatally shot.
