The man taken into custody was identified as 26-year-old Tariq White of Raleigh, North Carolina. He was charged with second-degree murder while armed for his alleged role in Devon Sharp's death. Later, the charges were elevated to first-degree premeditated murder while armed, destruction of property, and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence. At his arraignment, White pleaded not guilty to all charges.
