On Saturday, May 18, 2024, at approximately 3:28 a.m., a fatal shooting occurred in the 1200 block of V Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C. The victim, 16-year-old Devon Sharp, was found suffering from a gunshot wound by officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District who responded to the scene.

Sharp was transported to a local hospital where he received medical treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries on Monday, May 20, 2024.
