In the early evening of January 21, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a street in Southwest Washington, D.C., leaving two young men dead and a community searching for answers. One of the victims was 21-year-old Terrance Brown, a male from Laurel, Maryland. He and his companion, 22-year-old Ezra Beyene of Burke, Virginia, were discovered inside a vehicle on Forrester Street SW, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Emergency services, responding to reports of the
shooting at approximately 6:43 p.m., arrived to a grim scene. Brown and Beyene were found showing no signs of life and were pronounced dead at the location. The Metropolitan Police Department quickly launched a homicide investigation into the double killing.
Known to some by the nickname 'Nero,' Terrance Brown was remembered as a vibrant young man. He had a passion for music, fashion, and cars. Those who knew him described him as having a lively personality. He was a graduate of Potomac High School, having received his diploma in June of 2018.
Despite the ongoing investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch, no arrests have been made in the case. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the shooting that claimed the lives of Terrance Brown and Ezra Beyene.
