Do you know who murdered DeAngelo Borras? In the late hours of June 14, 2006, a 13-year-old African-American male named DeAngelo Borras was shot and killed in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred just before midnight in the courtyard of an apartment complex located at 120 Irvington Street, Southwest. At the time of the shooting, DeAngelo was engaged in a conversation with his 32-year-old mentor, Terrell Davis.
Their conversation was tragically interrupted when three young men approached them with menacing stares.
Shortly after, gunfire erupted. DeAngelo attempted to flee but was struck by a bullet and fatally wounded. His mentor, Terrell Davis, was also shot multiple times but survived the assault.
Detectives investigating the case believed the shooting may have been connected to a dispute over a stolen car that involved DeAngelo's school, Ballou Senior High. Following the incident, a 16-year-old named Demetrius Green was arrested and charged as an adult with first-degree murder in connection with DeAngelo's death. Despite this arrest, the Metropolitan Police Department has indicated that the investigation remains active and has encouraged the public to come forward with any information. No further arrests have been reported in connection to the shooting. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
