In the early evening of a winter Saturday in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunfire shattered the calm. On December 15, 2018, at approximately 6:19 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1100 block of 1st Street, Northwest. Arriving at the scene, they discovered a young man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Curtis Davis, a male resident of Southeast, D.C.
