In the early evening of a winter Saturday in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunfire shattered the calm. On December 15, 2018, at approximately 6:19 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1100 block of 1st Street, Northwest. Arriving at the scene, they discovered a young man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Curtis Davis, a male resident of Southeast, D.C.
Emergency medical personnel quickly transported Davis to a local hospital in an
attempt to save his life. Despite their efforts, his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The Metropolitan Police Department subsequently launched a homicide investigation into the fatal shooting.

A reward of up to $25,000 was offered for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Curtis Davis.
