On May 17, 2015, 33-year-old Gregory Steele Jr. was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Highway 150 Plaza shopping center in Bessemer, Alabama. He was transported to UAB Medical Center West, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Steele's death is memorialized on GunMemorial.org, where individuals can light candles and share memories in his honor. His obituary was featured in AL.com (Birmingham) on May 19, 2015.
