On August 17, 2021, 17-year-old Acorian "Bud" King was fatally shot at the Stop and Go convenience store on Dartmouth Avenue in Bessemer, Alabama. King, a senior at Bessemer City High School, was an innocent bystander when a fight erupted inside the store. During the altercation, gunfire broke out, resulting in King's death and injuries to two adults.
