On April 2, 2020, 26-year-old Earnest Lee Cunningham Jr. was found deceased from gunshot wounds on the 3300 block of 12th Avenue North in Bessemer, Alabama. The Bessemer Police Department initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
