Arkeese Newton, a 22-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on April 6, 2020, in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. when Newton was in a vehicle in the 700 block of South Cicero Avenue. According to reports, an unknown assailant approached the vehicle and opened fire, striking Newton in the head. He was immediately transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
