On October 2, 2015, 46-year-old Aubrey Herren was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 1 a.m., Birmingham police officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 300 block of Ninth Street West. Upon arrival, they discovered Herren lying in the roadway, having sustained a gunshot wound to the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
