On the morning of September 25, 2021, the quiet of a Birmingham, Alabama neighborhood was broken by a grim discovery. Marion Reynolds Jr., a 61-year-old male, was found unresponsive in the 3900 block of Mineral Avenue Southwest around 9:37 a.m. He was lying in the middle of the road, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
