On August 6, 2024, 49-year-old Erving Karland Gray was found unresponsive at 920 2nd Street North in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding officers from the North Precinct arrived around 7:00 a.m. and discovered Gray deceased at the scene. An autopsy conducted by the Jefferson County Medical Examiner's Office revealed that Gray's death resulted from a severe seizure linked to a gunshot injury he sustained on September 15, 1992.
